I have had many encounters with spirts of some kind over the last few years. Not to this extent. It's a shame that the house burnt down. I would have liked to take a tour. I am now planning to stop and see the property the next time I'm in Wisconsin, which is often since I live in Iowa and have lots of family all over Wisconsin.

Visited Summerwind back in Aug. of 85 with my cousin and another kid. Took several pics both of the outside and inside. Was a neat place. Wish I could find the pics to share. Remember them all being fuzzy around the edges and somewhat out of focus. would like to compare them with the pics on your web site.

Great info on a very interesting place. I've had paranormal experiences. It's a shame that it's not still there...but it sounds like that hasn't stopped the activity. Thank you!

I too just saw story on History channel. I cant believe I hadnt heard this huge haunting story after all these years visiting Wis and living in nearby Illinois! I needed to find out more and love the web site here. Done well!
I have not experienced any phenomena myself but am definately curious to understand it. I would like to see more investigations of the site on TV!
I'm currently looking for a copy of the first edition of the book!

The haunting of Summerwind on Discovery's A Haunting really interested me. I had to learn more about this mysterious mansion. I really liked the photos and history sections of the website. It felt great to see what Summerwind really looked like.

stopping by to visit and learn the history. it's sad that you and the house could not properly connect. someone was trying to get through to our world but just didn't know how. it seems there are still pieces to the puzzle missing....teri, michigan.

I am Happy to see this site! Summerwind has stayed with me some 20+ year's.In the mid to late 80's some friend's and I would go up there, often. We usually did the Summerwind and The Light "tour" since it's near eachother(kinda)lol.Luckily, we arrived several times before it was burnt down.
I cannot say I saw a ghost but I did see a couple of unexsplainable thing's.It was in a dilapidated state when we were there.I have some pictures but not of high quality, sadly. We had been "caught" on the property once by the owner's of the time, lol. They were VERY nice to us and understood our curiosity. But the fact is/was,looking back, the building was in dangerous condition. You could have quite literally fell through the second floor. We didn't care.Ohhh to be a teen again. No cares, lol.GREAT memories.GREAT friend's.GREAT times. The one thing that alway's struck me is there alway's seemed to be a fox, as if to greet us, and lead us down the path to the house and then just disappear.Good ole Helen Keller road..I'll never forget cha. of The Hodag
